Social Responsibility
Cradle is a Humanitarian Initiative of British-American Insurance Company. It is the compassionate window of BAT which looks at the improvement of human welfare, saving lives, relieving suffering and protecting dignity. Cradle has selected the NGO sector to be the beneficiary of the Initiative's investments and will seek to champion the causes of NGOs, The service is specially targeted to the NGO sector which works with children and women.

Mission
British American Insurance Company will be the corporate leader to promoting volunteerism and philanthropy in our Caribbean communities by providing marketing and PR services to build the Non-profit sector working with social issues so that our Caribbean society will be a better place.
Objectives
- To promote volunteerism as a personal work ethic which serves the improvement of human welfare, saving lives, relieving suffering and protecting dignity.
- To develop an internal corporate culture of employee volunteerism.
- To provide a marketing and public relations platform for NGOs working with social issues.
- To expose citizens to the world of volunteerism so that they become involved.
- To provide institutional strengthening for NGOs.
- To fund projects will contribute to their Development.

PR/ Marketing
- Level 1 - Hosting of Fairs for NGOs
- Level 2 - grants to NGO's for promotional Brochures, flyers, AGM Reports,
- Level 3 - Documentaries on issues
- Level 4 - Advertisement for sustainable projects

Hands that Rock the Cradle - Will be the BAT employee volunteer program
Cradle is.... A Marketing Platform. It is hoped that marketing services will recruit resources mainly financial and volunteers for the organizations. This will be done through the production of docu-dramas, television ads, radio and print ads, publication and events; Cradle carries the stories and activities of these charitable organizations to the public. Cradle will also host NGO fairs in Malls. Here NGOs are given a free space to showcase their work and recruit resources.
Cradle is.... A Training Provider. Many NGO,s have fragile systems which support their work. Cradle will help to build managerial capacity so that, they can develop a more robust system in keeping with their organizational growth.
Cradle is.... A Help Desk. A data base is being established of NGOs and any citizen who would like to volunteer both professionals and non professionals. The help desk is a single point of contact both for NGO's and citizens. The help desk provides recruitment and placement of volunteers for citizens.
Cradle is....Hands That Rock the Cradle. All Managers, agents and staff are called Hands that rock the Cradle. Already there is a corporate culture of volunteerism by BAT constituents. A recent survey showed that 79% of BAT is already involved in volunteer work with and FBO, CBO or Non profit. Hands that rock the cradle will be involved in community projects throughout the year.
