⚠️ Security Advisory: Beware of Doppelgänger Domains ⚠️

British American Insurance Company (Trinidad) Limited (“BAT”) would like to inform our users that the following website domains are NOT associated with BAT, and that email addresses with these domains do not originate from BAT:

  1. ba-tri.nidad.com
  2. ba-trini.dad.com

Users are asked to be on the alert against and to disregard links or correspondence utilizing these domains. These domains are known as doppelgänger domains —they closely resemble BAT’s official domain and can deceive users into thinking that they are on BAT’s official website. Fake domains can also be used to intercept communications that you have intended solely for BAT or deceive you into thinking that a communication you have received is from BAT, when it is in fact fraudulent.

BAT’s official domain is ba-trinidad.com.

Cybersecurity reminders:

If you receive any emails claiming to be from BAT, please verify the sender’s address carefully.

BAT will never ask you to confirm your online banking passwords, account information or security questions/answers. BAT continues to implement internal policies to ensure that the information we receive from our customers is handled with confidentiality.

Be reminded to exercise care when communicating or conducting transactions online. Keep your user information, passwords and financial and bio data private. Secure your devices using a password and/or other user-authentication methods. Always verify that an email address is legitimate by contacting the sender or the intended recipient. All online activity carries the inherent risk of being intercepted or misused.
